Xeroeclector is a bag with an inner metal frame on which are suspended perforated bags (Ref. 26.151) filled with soil or substrate. On the bottom of the xeroeclector is placed a collecting bottle (for example Ref. 11.14) into which then small insects fall.
The package does not contain bags for sifting.
Xeroeclector works on a simple principle - drying out of the soil. Insect gradually moves to the lower side of the xeroeclector, where it seeks for places with higher humidity and then falls into prepared bottle on the bottom, which is filled with fixing medium or wet wood shavings. Xeroeklektor is usually hanged to the upwind places, where xeroeclector's content dries out faster.
