The genus Plutella Schrank 1802 from the Palaearctic region is revised and redescribed on the basis of examination of over 1800 specimens in different institutional and private collections. Two new genera are described: Plutelloptera andPseudoplutella. Three new species are described and illustrated: Plutella karsholtellafrom Canary Isles, Plutelloptera huemerella from France and Plutelloptera kyrkellafrom Russia. The systematic position of three genera and all species are discussed and cladistic analysis is provided. Original keys for identification to genera and the species are compiled.
